It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.

Bigfoot Discovery or Big Fools Discovery?

Ξ August 17th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ For Real or Not for Real?, In the News |

The legend and sightings of a man-like creature called “Bigfoot” has been occurring for over a century.  The earliest sighting was reported in the early 1800s in the Mt. Katahdin area in Maine bt a trapper named Cluey.  He claimed to have seen Bigfoot near camp at night and again the next day. In Owens Valley, CA 1882, a several witnesses made many claims to a shaggy beast roaming around the valley.  One witness went up to it while it was sleeping and tried to lasso it.  The creature then ran off yelling.  Another witness fainted when he saw it coming.  Yet another witness of the time was one who hunted Bigfoot.  On March 25th he found it feeding and fired 5 bullets into it.  It came for hime.  This witness’s horse broke 2 legs in the crazy escape but the witness was only bruised.

Reports have continued of hairy men from 3 feet tall to 8 feet.  Some have described wild-children, others claim seeing black hairy beasts, and still others claim even more different sightings, but all are similar in their ways.  The most recent big hoorah was a man who recently discovered a dead body of one of these Bigfoot creatures.  The following is an excerpt from the Wikipedia Bigfoot page:

  • 2008: In August 2008, two hikers, Rick Dyer and Matthew Whitton, claimed that they had discovered the body of a deceased Sasquatch in a forest in northern Georgia. Dyer and Whitton contacted Tom Biscardi, a long-time bigfoot enthusiast, to look at the body. One sample of genetic material, supposedly from the alleged remains of the Bigfoot, has been shown to contain human DNA and another sample opossum DNA, while a third has been inconclusive for technical reasons. Biscardi claims that the opossum DNA could be attributed the stomach contents of the carcass.[48][49][50]

There have been several photographs taken over the years as well.  Here is the most recent from the August 2008 sighting.  Bigfoot in the freezer.

When this particular Bigfoot was found in the woods, not only did they find him, they spotted several other large, hairy creatures lurking nearby.  Possibly family of the fallen Bigfoot?  Are they cannibalistic creatures that were looking to eat him?  No one really knows why there were so many of the in the area.  That is, if they were honestly seen.

Will they perform a Bigfoot Autopsy?  Well, the men that are supposedly keeping the body in an undisclosed freezer in an undisclosed location have promised this, but since the hearing they have not been seen or heard from.  A little suspicious?  I think so.  That still leaves the question open.  Are they just keeping quiet until the autopsy is performed and they have conclusive evidence?  Or is it a hoax that they know they can’t keep up with?

This image is a map of all the sightings in the Bigfoot Field Research Organization Database:

Facts about Bigfoot:

It’s a fact that for more than 400 years people have reported seeing large, hair-covered, man-like animals in the wilderness areas of North America.

It is a fact that sightings of these animals continue today. Real or not, these reports are often made by people of unimpeachable character.

It is a fact that, for over seventy years, people have been finding, photographing, and casting sets of very large human-shaped tracks. Most are discovered by chance in remote areas. These tracks continue to be found to this day.

There needs to be plenty of food in the areas that a Bigfoot frequents.   To sustain a large community of these animals, there must be a sufficient amount of the following foods.  Here is just a general list of what they could survive on:
* Plants - there are many wild plants, flowers and roots that are edible such as mushrooms, berries wild onions
* Nuts - there are acorns, pine cones and a few other edible nuts
* Fish - salmon and trout
* Insects - snails, grubbs, grasshoppers are just a few examples
* Red Meat - deer, small mammals and rodents.
* White Meat - various fowl

Bigfoot or Bear? ( A Possible Bigfoot in Pennsylvania) Bigfoot or Bear in Pennsylvania Woods North of Pittsburgh. This incident was reported on the BFRO website. A remote camera takes a picture of a creature with rather long legs for a bear. Looks like a primate knuckle-walking.
Sound files added are: from Sierra Sounds encounters and Ohio BF “Talker” recordings. Background sound is thunder.

Patterson Film A Hoax? Facts about various claims that the Patterson Film is a fake. This is straight from the BFRO, I take no credit for it. I do not condone the actions of the BFRO, especially the fact that they seem to operate as outfitters and guides (while charging lots of cash) on federal lands without a license or permit most of the time, BUT they do have an impressive database of reports, photos, audio and video for indepenent researchers (or anyone) to access. For that, I thank them.

Actor and Friend Bernie Mac Died at age 50

Ξ August 9th, 2008 | → 4 Comments | ∇ In the News |

In “The Bernie Mac Show,”  he plays a man charged with taking care of his sister’s three children after she is sent for rehabilitation.  This show was a hit for Fox television from 2001 to 2006.  Overall Bernie Mac was a part of over 100 films and shows.

Bernie Mac was born in Chicago on October 5, 1957 as Bernard Jeffrey McCullough, a surname that naturally lent itself to the nickname “Mac.”  Bernie grew up on the South Side of the city.  He lived there with his mother and grandparents.  Bernie’s grandpa was the deacon of the nearby Baptist church and his mother died of cancer when he was 16.  Bernie was the definition of the word real.

Beloved and powerful actor, father and friend Bernie Mac died Saturday morning from “complications due to pneumonia.”  He has long suffered from an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body’s organs and can affect any organ that is called Sarcoidosis.  In 2005 he said that it went into remission.  Bernie Mac’s lawyer stated that the recent pneumonia bout was not related to the Sarcoidosis.  It is said that he died of Natural Causes.

The Linkback Project… Driving Traffic and More

Ξ August 4th, 2008 | → 1 Comments | ∇ The Green People, World of Tech |

So, what is the Linkback Project?  It is a project to prove that all the hype about search engines is just that, hype.  There are many factors that build up to your ranking, but one of the biggest is back links.  “The theory that we are building this testable model by is, that if we can repeat the process of folks joining in on as many of these as possible, that the number of constantly increasing backlinks will raise ranking higher, and keep it there because of the steady, slow progression of incoming links” states Guy Vestal on the about page of LinkbackProject.com

Seems to me a pretty good idea, since I have this funny feeling that more links equal more visitors.  Click here to read the Linkback Project Intro

Click here to find out what it takes.

Straight from the site here are the conditions you must meet in order to be included in the Linkback Project…

Conditions For Submission:

  1. All of the code must be placed correctly in your post, including your keyword and link at the bottom.
  2. Your weblog must be pinged. Google will tell me.
  3. Your website in no way can deny spidering. Meta tags and robot(s).txt files will be checked. You must allow spiders, to be a tester.
  4. “nofollow” appears nowhere in your post. Those who nofollow their comments will be given less consideration if there is overspill that will let comments follow.
  5. In the sentence below: “I consider myself an expert in ________” I remove that underline seen here, and replace it with my keyword down there. You will do the same with your keyword. It must be a one word keyword, no groups or phrases.
  6. YOU MUST UPDATE the list when we reach 100, periodic updates can be easier, but at 100, all must update.
  7. Those that cannot meet the conditions can be skipped over for inclusion. Get your ducks in a row.
  8. The list will stop at 100
